Advocacy & Benefits Counseling (ABC) for Health
ABC for Health is a Wisconsin-based, nonprofit public interest law firm dedicated to linking children and families, particularly those with special needs, to health care benefits and services. ABC for Health may be able to help you if you:
- Are having trouble paying medical bills, have uncovered medical expenses or medical debts
- Have medical debt related to coverage denials or terminations
- Are being contacted by a debt collector about medical bills or have medical debts on your credit report
- Need help applying for financial assistance for a hospital bill
- Have questions about BadgerCare Plus, Katie Beckett or CLTS services eligibility, terminations, or denials
- Are uninsured or your insurance is unaffordable
- Received a claims denial or are in a dispute with your private insurer
- Have questions about having multiple health care payors at the same time, like BadgerCare Plus and private insurance, especially in families with children with special health care needs
- Have questions about applying for health insurance in the ACA Marketplace (HealthCare.gov)
- Have questions about using your benefits
- Have questions about birth cost recovery issues including judgments and Medicaid sanctions
